What to Bring to Practices...

Please equip your swimmer with the following:

  • Swim suit appropriate for sport use (such as Speedo, TYR, or other durable brands), and that will hold up in heavy chlorine.
  • Good-fitting pair of goggles (goggles can be purchased from any sporting goods store, such as Hibbetts, or at the Kirksville Aquatic Center front desk).
  • A reusable water bottle (these should be filled before practice, and can be set at the ends of the lanes on the deck edge for use during practice).
  • Flip-flops (recommended for locker room wear).
  • Beach towel or swim shammy (can be found in sports stores).
  • Water-proof high SPF sunscreen (for outdoor pool practices). Please APPLY sunscreen BEFORE coming to practice in summer months.
  • Swim fins ("flippers"), which will be used in practices from time to time.  (We keep a few "share-able" pairs in stock on deck, but recommend swimmers purchase their own.)
  • Padlock for use in the locker rooms, if desired (must be removed daily, at end of practices).
  • Swim caps are optional, and we sell a team cap if desired (caps are recommended if swimmer will be attending swim meets).
  • Aquadog apparel (such as T-shirts), if desired, and swim caps can be ordered from the ASA Spirit Coordinator. See the Apparel page for options.  Every Tuesday is "Team Tuesday", so if your swimmer has a shirt they can wear it then.  Swimmers also like to wear Aquadogs apparel in local parades with the team.

PLEASE REMEMBER TO LABEL EVERYTHING YOUR SWIMMER BRINGS TO PRACTICE. IF ITEMS ARE LEFT BEHIND, THEY WILL BE PLACED IN THE “LOST & FOUND” LOCATED IN THE AQUATIC CENTER LOBBY OR BEHIND THE FRONT DESK.
