Fundraising ~ ASA is a volunteer parent-run organization, and most of our income is from fees collected from our members. However, to help keep our programs affordable and to balance our budget, we occasionally conduct fundraising events (typically 1-2 per year). All swim families are asked to contribute in some way, either with work time, supplies, or monetary donations. These are usually fun activities for our kids to take part in and only require a minimum of time and effort on the part of parents.
Our next event will be:
Aquadog Annual Hot Dog Stand: Late August 2010 at the Kirksville Walmart, details TBA.
Public Relations ~ The ASA Aquadogs occasionally take part in parades and other local activities. These events are great opportunities for our club to show "team spirit", and swimmers really enjoy the camaraderie.
Our next event will be:
Truman State University's Homecoming Parade: Saturday, October 10th in downtown Kirksville along Franklin Steet. The parade begins at 9:00am. Please plan to wear your Aquadog apparel or team colors and bring some swim noodles to hand out along the route. Parents and siblings are also invited to walk with the team!
