Swim Parent Meeting, Election, & Picnic Information

On May 31, Thursday, we will hold a Parent's Meeting with an election starting at 5:30 pm at the Kirksville Aquatic Center park shelter. The meeting will last until the completion of swimming time at 8:00 pm.

At 5:30 pm your Board will have grilled hot dogs and hamburgers ready to enjoy as a start to an end-of-the-regular-swim-year party for our kids. I'll send around information for potluck contributions soon! I love potluck!

Our kids can then have the run of the park until we start our pool party during our regularly scheduled practice time.

At 6:00 pm Dr. Kevin M. Marberry, Professor and Orthopedic Surgeon specializing in sports medicine, will make a short presentation to parents regarding a research project in which our ASA Aquadogs have been asked to participate. It's my understanding the Truman swim team will also be participating this fall. Dr. Marberry plans to speak for about 15 minutes, and then informed consent forms will be available to parents for consideration. Participation is, of course, voluntary. We are looking forward to hearing Dr. Marberry's ideas and plans!

At 6:15 pm, following this presentation, we will hold an important meeting that will establish our direction as a swim club for the year, review finances, and elect new officers for the board. We will also have some new coaches to introduce!

Please plan to be in attendance for this important meeting. Your ideas, enthusiasm, and participation, are so important for the continued success and growth of the ASA Swim Team! We'll try to get through the drier details of running a swim club as quickly as possible so we can just kick back, socialize, and watch the kids have a blast in the water.
