News from the ASA Meet Coordinator, Andrea Maag:

Good Afternoon Aquadog Families,

I have some information on two upcoming meets that our swimmers might want to enter.  The latter one is with Ottumwa, and probably will be scheduled sometime in early December.  More information will follow on this meet, but it looks like they are planning on having it at The Beach on December 7th.   As this meet comes together I’ll let you know about entry information and deadlines.

The earlier meet will be an official USA meet (which we have not participated in recently).  The Jim Devine Memorial Invitational will be held at the Mizzou Aquatic Center (hosted by the Columbia Swim Club) on November 15-17.  This will be a very large meet with around 800 swimmers, and will be run under the Missouri Valley/USA Swimming rules.  For details on the meet you can refer to the web site here: http://www.missourivalleyswimming.com/meets/events/CSC-JimDevineMemorial-15Nov2013.pdf.

I will need to  have entries ready to send in on Tuesday, October 15, as early as possible, in order to make sure our swimmers can be entered.  Entry to the meet is first-come-first-served, so I’ll need to know from the Aquadogs by Monday night, October 14, which swimmers plan to attend and what events.  An entry fee will be charged for events, with individual entries being $4.50/event and $7.00/relay team.  If we have several swimmers attending we can send in one check from the Aquadogs for the fees, as long as swimmers send their individual entry fee(s) to our treasurer, Tony Vazzana.

Please let me know if you’re interested in this meet, and please contact our swim coaches if you are unsure about which events to enter.  It would be nice if the Aquadogs swimmers could agree to a particular day of the meet to attend, but we can work on the details after you’ve all had a chance to look over the event listing.

Please let me know if you have questions, and I hope to see you either tonight at the Swim Clinic or on Saturday at our Intersquad Meet at Truman.
