Skip the sunscreen?

No way!  ...Please remember that our swimmers will be using the outdoor pool as often as possible during the summer months, so that they can have some deep water and diving practice time.  Thus, it's really important for swimmers to slather on the sunscreen before hitting the deck.  We suggest a good coat of waterproof 50+ sunscreen be applied at least 15 minutes before getting into the water.  Also, sometimes practices will start in the indoor pool and then move to the outdoor pool after warm-ups, so use sunscreen every time!  (And if you're still not convinced, check this photo out from the New England Journal of Medicine.)

 - And if your swimmer did forget the sunscreen, don't be afraid to ask a fellow swimmer for a loan.  Chances are, somebody has some in their bag or locker!
