Parade Plans

The Aquadogs will be walking in the upcoming Truman Homecoming Parade on Saturday, October 4th.  Line assignments haven't been made yet, but the Aquadogs will most likely line up around 8:30am for the parade to begin at 9:00am.  This is usually a very fun activity for our swimmers, and Ferdinand the Frog will be joining them (he is the KAC mascot).  Pat Osborn is getting the details for this event together, and asks that swim families purchase any swim-type items to bring to the parade (noodles, beach balls, swim caps...  most can be purchased very inexpensively now that summer is over - check those clearance aisles!).  These items will be handed out to swim team-aged kids along the path of the parade in lieu of candy.  Also, if your swimmer has Aquadog apparel please have them wear it, or dress in purple/grey/black/white or Truman-themed clothing.  Then, any parents who can accompany the team would also be appreciated.  We would like to have 4 parents (one at each corner of our "box" of swimmers walking) to guide the team down the parade route, and Pat will also have a pick-up truck that will follow behind the team down the streets.  Please email Pat at your earliest convenience,, and let her know whether or not to expect your swimmer in the parade, what types of items you might be able to bring, and also if you would be willing to help walk with the swimmers.  (Please note, we will be participating in the parade in lieu of our regular Saturday morning practice this day.)
