As you'll see below, we have a terrific collection of meets lined up for the summer. In addition to several USA meets and several Centerville YMCA meets, Coach Corey has arranged for our team to participate in the River Country League. River Country is a seasonal league that provides swimmers with a chance to swim with local teams (e.g., Quincy, Canton, Hannibal, Kahoka) while promoting the basics of swimming and safety. These meets are designed to be fun, friendly, one-day events. Coach Corey would like to have at least 10 swimmers attend each River Country meet to make it worth the host team's effort, so please consider signing your swimmer(s) up for these.

June 11-13 (Fri-Sun), Show Me Games, Columbia Missouri. Twenty-five yard pool at Hickman High School. ASA does not register swimmers for this meet. You must register your swimmer (and yourself if you'd like to compete) at the meet website - - no later than June 1st to participate. Make hotel reservations NOW if you plan to spend the night.

June 14 (Mon), River Country League at Quincy Country Club, Quincy, IL. Warmups begin at 5:30 PM; meet starts at 6:00 PM. $10 entry fee per swimmer.

June 26 (Sat), Centerville YMCA & Ottumwa YMCA at Centerville YMCA, IA. Time to be determined. $10 entry fee per swimmer.

June 29 (Tue), River Country League in Canton, MO. Warmups begin at 5:30 PM; meet starts at 6:00 PM. $10 entry fee per swimmer.

July 9-11 (Fri-Sun), Sheridan Swim Club Meet (USA meet), Quincy, IL. Long course outdoor pool. Make hotel reservations NOW if you plan to spend the night.

July 17 (Sat), River Country League in Kahoka, MO. Warmups begin at 9:30 AM; meet begins at 10 AM. $10 entry fee per swimmer.

July 22-24 (Fri-Sun), Missouri Valley Long Course D2 (USA meet), Clay Platte YMCA, North Kansas City, MO. Swimmers need official USA qualifying times to attend this meet (either short or long course times).

July 31 (Sat), River Country League Championship. Swimmers must compete in at least ONE of the earlier River Country League meets to attend this championship meet. Time and place to be determined (possibly the Sheridan Swim Club in Quincy, IL). $10 entry fee per swimmer.

August 7 (Sat), Centerville YMCA & Ottumwa YMCA at Centerville YMCA, IA. Time to be determined. $10 entry fee per swimmer.

Please note: Unless specifically identified as a USA meet, the above meets are neither USA sanctioned nor USA approved. It is important that you understand that your swimmer's individual USA excess medical coverage is not in effect whenever your swimmer participates in a non-USA meet.

Special thanks to Diana Rhodes, our retiring meets coordinator, for putting together this great summer meets schedule and for her years of dedication and commitment to the Adair Swim Association. We can't thank you enough, Diana, for all the time and effort you've put into our team! Questions about meets should now be directed to our new meets coordinator, Andrea Maag, at or 349-0963.

July 4th - Plan to don your red, white, and blue and join the Aquadogs as we celebrate Independence Day and walk in Kirksville's annual Fourth of July Parade. Details to follow as we get closer to the date.

August 21st - Mark your calendar and plan to show your support for your team by working an hour or two at ASA's annual hot dog fundraiser. This is our only fundraiser of the year, so please plan to participate. Again, more details to follow as we get closer to the date.

The Aquadogs are also planning to clean our section of Cottage Grove in June and August. Exact dates and times to be determined.

Thank you so much for your lovely gift of an hour-long massage in recognition of the end of my term as president of ASA. I can't tell you how much I'm looking forward to using this gift certificate! I've enjoyed getting to know all of you and your swimmers and look forward to working with you as ASA's new safety & insurance coordinator. Please don't hesitate to contact me if you ever have a safety or insurance question.

Thank you again and happy swimming!
