April 2010 Newsletter

Greetings Aquadog Families!

A few notes as we race toward the end of the spring swim session and into the summer season:

May 1                  End-of-year party and spring business meeting  - NO PRACTICE
May 8                 NO PRACTICE
May 15                Start of new Executive Committee year
May 28               End of spring swim session
June 1                 Summer swim session begins
August 7             End of summer swim session

Due to low attendance, Thursday evening practice has been canceled for the remainder of the spring swim session. Thursday evening practice will resume in the summer.

Thanks very much to Susan Dublin for working on the details of our end-of-year party and spring business meeting. The spring party & meeting is a particularly important team event, partly because it will give us an opportunity to celebrate the end of a really great year, but also because we'll be electing new officers for the upcoming year, discussing our incorporation, and voting on revising our bylaws. The meeting won't take very long and the party is promising to be lots of fun, so please plan to attend!! If you haven't already done so, please rsvp to Susan Dublin at clubdub1@aol.com or 627-2822 to let her know you'll be coming and what you'd like to bring. (I've attached a .pdf of the invitation and sign-up sheet below - the same document Susan sent out earlier).

A big thank you to everyone who came out recently to lend a hand with our community service projects. Special thanks to Parker and Pat Osborn, Jess Rhodes, and Emily Harrison  for helping the city with the Annual Easter Egg Hunt. Parker made a fabulous Ferdinand the Frog and Jess was a spectacular Easter Bunny. Special thanks also to Nick and Dean Maag; Miles, Aaron, and Deb Krusniak; Alicia Wollmering; and Forrest Beck for all their efforts in cleaning our section of Cottage Grove. The street looks terrific!

As always, please don't hesitate to contact me if you have any questions.

Thanks and happy swimming!
